British Bandsman Features Editor, Paul Hindmarsh, is to host the European Brass Forum at the European Brass Band Championships in Rotterdam with panel representatives from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Norway.

All EBBC visitors are invited to the seminar. Admission free.

The Forum is to be held in concert hall De Doelen on Friday 4. May at 10:00.

Paul Hindmarsh says:

"Over the past few years the, European Brass Band Championships have visited countries where the sound of the brass band is new, such as Austria, as well as those where the culture has matured very quickly, like Norway. In two years time, it returns to Scotland, where the regeneration of brass band participation, supported by the Scottish government, has been one of the success stories in the European brass band communities. With presentations from established and emerging brass band nations, the European Brass Forum this year examines how the brass band culture was planted and is sustained in Norway, the challenges facing brass bands in the island of Ireland, the progress made in developing the brass band culture in Austria and the regeneration of and future plans for brass bands in Scotland."
Speakers include Viggo Bjørge (Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag, Norway), Joe Cassells (EBBA Music Commission, Northern Ireland) and Andrew Duncan (Development Manager Scottish Brass Band Association).
