The European Brass Band Association is pleased to announce the line-up of players who will form the 15th edition of the European Youth Brass Band, which will meet in Utrecht, Netherlands, in the week prior to the 2018 European Brass Band Championships.
36 young brass players aged between 18 and 22, from 16 different countries, will come to Utrecht at 28 April and meet in the Akoesticum in Ede for the seating auditions and first rehearsal under the baton of the distinguished conductor Ivan Meylemans.
During the week the European Youth Brass Band will have a very busy schedule with rehearsals and concerts:
|Wednesday 2 May:||Akoesticum Ede, Evening concert|
|Thursday 3 May:||Concert after the Final of the European Soloist Competition in Hertz hall located in TivoliVredenburg|
|Friday 4 May:||Opening Ceremony EBBC 2018|
|Saturday 5 May:||Opening Concert of the ‘Bevrijdings Festival’ Utrecht|
|Saturday 5 May||The EYBB will be included in a program with Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag and K.O. Brass.|
|Sunday 6 May:||Farewell Concert after the 5th EYBBC in TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht.|
Apart from the concerts and rehearsals there will also be time to socialize and the young players will have the opportunity to listen to the best bands in the world during the 41st European Brass Band Championships which will take place at Friday 4 May and Saturday 5 May.
Ulf Rosenberg, EBBA president says: ‘Everyone in EBBA and also ZIMIHC (the local organizing company) is looking forward to meet and listen to the European Youth Brass Band 2018 and their conductor Ivan Meylemans’.
