Dear all brass friends in Europe.

European Brass Band Association extends application deadline for the 6th European Soloist Competition (ESC) for brass and percussion instruments.

The competition will be held in Perth, Scotland, in conjunction with the European Brass Band Championships 2014.

The ESC will have four rounds, with the final seeing the best three young instrumentalists playing a major work for their instrument, with brass band accompaniment provided by the Kirkintilloch Band.

The final will take place May 1st 2014. Prize money totals 7,000 Euros.

Concord Brass Band (Dennis Andersen) - Denmark

Cory Band (Philip Harper) - Wales (defending champion)

Paris Brass Band (Florent Didier) - France

Tongwynlais Temperance Band (Steve Sykes) - Wales
