The European Conductors Competition will be arranged 28th of April - 2nd of May 2013.

The European Conductors Competition 2013 will have the following 16 participants conducting in the first round:

Mr Bastien Ricquebourg (F)
Ms Barbara Theresia Schied (D)
Mr Martin Schädlich (D)

The contest:
Conductors native to or resident in Europe will be invited by the European Brass Band Association to qualify through DVDs. 15-20 conductors will then be invited to Oslo. They will try to work their way through the rounds, and become one of the three candidates in the grand final and finally the winner of the competition.

The ensembles:
In the 1st round and the final, the candidates will conduct Oslo Brass Band. Founded in 2001, the band has provided an inspiring performance arena for Oslo's music teachers, freelancers, music students and talented amateurs.

In the 2nd round the candidates will stand in front of The Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces. The Band is Norway's largest professional wind band, employing 39 full-time musicians.

In the semi final round, it is Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) who will be on stage with the final three conductors. Founded in 1946, the orchestra is regarded with a combination of respect and affection by its public.
