Conductors native to or resident in Europe have been invited to submit their entry for the 7th European Conductor Competition. From a total of 25 entries received from all over Europe, 14 have been selected by EBBA Music Commission to take part in the competition, which will begin on Monday 24 April in De Grote Post, Ostend, Belgium. Three finalists will be chosen by a distinguished jury to compete in the final on Thursday 27 April, when each will conduct a major work for brass band.
Paul Hindmarsh, chairman of the EBBA Music Commission, commented: ‘The Music Commission was impressed by both the range and the overall standard of the entries and is looking forward to watching the 14 candidates at work during the competition in Ostend’
The ensembles:
In the 1st round, the candidates will conduct one of the Belgian Championship Section Brass Bands, Festival Brass Band. In the 2nd round, the candidates will work with Kon.
